LCAI process safety experts have been involved in Process Safety Management activities for more than 10 years, long before they were mandated by OSHA and the EPA. Our specialists have assisted clients throughout the world in developing and establishing their process safety management programs. We have also been involved in auditing and revising in-house programs developed by clients. Our services include:
PSM Program Development
We specialize in the development of PSM programs that integrate the requirements of OSHA and EPA Process Safety Management regulations into existing voluntary Process Safety Management and related programs such as Responsible Care, API 750 and Total Quality Management initiatives. Our services include evaluating the effectiveness of existing activities in meeting process safety objectives; enhancing or supplementing these activities to develop practical implementation plans; and assisting in a smooth transition from paper plans to an active PSM program.
Process Hazards Analysis
LCAI engineers have conducted numerous HAZOP, “What if..?”, What if/Checklist, and Preliminary Hazards Analyses using computer based documentation systems. LCAI can provide review leaders and/or scribes for process reviews.
Procedure Preparation and Review
LCAI can prepare and review operating, maintenance and emergency procedures in process facilities for compliance with PSM program requirements.
Incident Investigation
LCAI consulting engineers have participated in incident investigations for clients and as expert witnesses. They can serve as an independent party for investigation of major fires, explosions or toxic vapor releases.
PSM Program Audits
LCAI will evaluate existing PSM programs for compliance with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP regulations as well as voluntary programs, such as Responsible Care or API 750 initiatives.
